Coastal Home Decor Inspiration

I am so grateful to be sharing this beautiful coastal home designed by Meghan Grimbert and Ann Ueno for Miami Living Co today because it not only features many interior design and decor inspirations but it also features the beautiful work of a very talented designer duo. They were kind enough to share every detail of this project, from hardwood flooring stain color to window treatments, so please make sure to check more of their work on their website and keep their name in mind if you are planning on hiring an interior designer.

Here, the designers share some important insights of this project:

“Welcome to our #coastalcasa, a 1950s cottage with original nautical stucco details located in the coveted Miami Shores neighborhood in Miami.

This home was given to us to completely redesign from the ground up. A gut renovation inclusive of a garage conversion, an addition, an extensive backyard design and front exterior design as well. From flooring, windows and window treatments, to a new kitchen, a laundry room expansion and hardscape in the front and back of the home, we had our work cut out for us!

The clients are a retired couple from Westchester, NY and they purchased this home with a goal to downsize and be closer to their children/grandchildren. We know that timeless and classic had to be a part of the aesthetic given the age and design goals of the client. But we also wanted to pepper in some modern touches to ensure there was personality throughout the home.”

Keep reading to know more! 🙂

Well-Planned

“We had a baby grand piano that needed a home. Given the limited space we had, it was crucial we got the space design right, but also we wanted each space to feel like it’s own. AND. WE. DID. IT. The client was left with a true entryway, an area to play the piano and a full sitting area in front of the fireplace. From McGee and Co and One Kings Lane furnishings to the durability and function of the FLOR carpet tiles, the client LOVED the outcome which means WE WIN!”

The laundry room will forever hold a special place in our hearts! When the client agrees to a bold cement tile and a functional design, this is always a dream for interior designers. And we always believe in having a bit more fun and taking more risks where you can and a laundry room is a perfect place for that.
